The Curriculum

Religious Education

Christianity has a central place in Religious Education teaching. It is important, however, that children also develop knowledge of other religions that are present in our society.

Throughout the curriculum, and as part of the whole school ethos, there will be a strong emphasis on moral education.

We work with the Hampshire Agreed Syllabus 2 Visions and Insight.

The RE curriculum includes the study of Christianity from early times though the Old and New Testament stories, other religious beliefs, e.g. Judaism and Islam, the Church today including visits to local churches and other faiths and religions e.g. Hinduism

Parents do have a statutory right to withdraw their children from Religious Education and worship. Each day the children will be involved in an assembly that includes collective worship. This is broadly Christian in character but also focuses on aspects of right and wrong and the development of character traits such as respect.
