Foundation Stage

Year R (reception): 4-5 years

In the foundation stage we aim to make a positive contribution to the children's early development and learning by ensuring that all children feel included, secure and valued. In order to achieve this the Foundation Stage curriculum is organised into six areas of learning;

Personal, social and emotional development
Communication language and literacy
Mathematical development
Knowledge and understanding of the world
Physical development
Creative development

Most children will be expected to achieve the 'Early Learning Goals' started at their pre-school by the end of the Foundation Stage.

The reception children are involved in the Key Stage One assemblies and are gradually integrated to play alongside the other children.

We welcome parents into our school and like to establish a working relationship. If you can spare the time, we would be very pleased to see you in school. The more adults we have in the school, the more the children benefit.
