Visits and residential opportunities

We offer a residential trip for years 5 and 6 children at the beginning of the academic year to help develop independence, team building, character and personality. We visit contrasting locations to offer the children a variety of experiences.

Previously we have visited Ross on Wye, Marchants Hill and Osmington Bay. These visits are proving to be very popular.

The visits follow the County Councils safety guidelines.

Children from reception through to year 6 have the opportunity to go on visits to enhance their learning in the curriculum. Examples of visits include Marwell Zoo, Queen Elizabeth Country Park, a variety of theatre groups, and Portsmouth docks. These are designed to complement the work undertaken in the classroom.

We also arrange for visitors with a specific specialism to come into the school to work with the children. Recent visitors include the fire service, musicians, historical characters, our local police liaison officer and the local vet.
